boulder canyon natural foods, a manufacturer of snack foods, has introduced the first mainstream consumer product in the us to feature the adzuki bean, which reportedly possesses natural healing and health properties. boulder canyon rice & adzuki bean artisan snack chips reportedly do not have added colors, preservatives or artificial flavorings and are available in three flavors including sun dried tomato with basil, chipotle cheese and natural salt. the chips are available at major grocery stores nationwide with a suggested retail price between $2.49 and $2.99 per five-ounce bag. the company said that its canyon rice & adzuki bean chips blend the taste of the southwest flavors of asia. the adzuki bean is native to east asia. in addition to its flavor profile, the adzuki bean contains fiber, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc copper, manganese and vitamin b3. boulder canyon features cooked varieties such as malt vinegar & sea salt, spinach & artichoke, balsamic vinegar & rosemary snack chips. steve sklar, senior vice president of marketing for boulder canyon, said: "boulder canyon rice & adzuki bean artisan snack chips offer consumers a healthier chip with a satisfying, bold taste. boulder canyon products are made with all natural ingredients which, when combined with the nutritious adzuki bean, provide a delicious solution for today's health-conscious snacker."
